With the recent spate of tragic school shootings, one thing really stood out to me. Did you notice how the Amish community responded? Not like your right wing evangelicals who would have somehow blamed Democrats and gay marriage proponents. They responded by expressing their tahnks to authorities and (something novel) forgiveness. This article on Andrew Sullivan's Daily Dish is worth reading.
