I'm not a big fan of South Park but they sure know how to make a point - and drive it all the way home. They certainly did that this week with their Cartoon Wars episode. I don't want to spoil the episode for any of you who haven't seen it yet, so let me just just point out two highlights. The first is what happens when an image of Muhammad is displayed. The second is how a group of radical fundamentalists choose to respond. Most Christians, including me, will find what happens to be plenty offensive - if not blasphemous. In my mind, however, the most interesting and controversial aspect of the show revolves around the decisions the network (Comedy Central) made in regard to what to allow and not to allow. I won't say more than that, so you can view the episode (if you can stomach it) without my having given everything away. Okay, just one more comment. Can you say: Hypocrisy?
And if you want to know more there is a good summary at Get Religion.
