Bono: Grace vs. Karma

I love this interview with Bono "in a new book of interviews, Bono in Conversation by Michka Assayas." Check out this excerpt from World Magazine. I don't think he could explain the nature of his relationship with Jesus any more clearly. (Although it does sound like he's channeling C.S. Lewis . . .)

But I'd be in big trouble if Karma was going to finally be my judge," says Bono. "It doesn't excuse my mistakes, but I'm holding out for Grace.

what a great statement, huh? most people, however, don't believe this. i hear all the time, "i'm a good person, so i don't need to believe in God ...i will get to heaven because i live my life in an upstanding way and don't hurt others."

great interview ..... i didn't know Bono believed like that ...

The whole book is like this. Bono just witnesses to the guy about every 20 pages. At one point Assayas asks him why he keeps quoting the Bible even when the question wasn't about religion....

yes, but that is what someone who on fire for the Lord does ... i think it's great .. i didn't realize that he was so into Christ ... i haven't ever really been into their music ....
