Raider of the Not So Lost Ark

I was fortunate enough to go to Israel in 2001. One of the places we visited in the Old City of Jerusalem was the Temple Institute. As they indicate on their Website, "The Temple Institute is dedicated to every aspect of the concept of the Holy Temple of Jerusalem, and the central role it fulfilled, and will once again fulfill, (italics mine) in the spiritual wellbeing of both Israel and all the nations of the world." They are busy putting together all of the many items that would be needed to refurnish the temple, should it be rebuilt.

Seeing everything they had put together was pretty impressive but it begged the question, "what about the Ark of the Covenant?" I was amazed and shocked by their answer: "We know where it is." You can check out this link on their site for more info.

Twice this week I have run across an article about how "famed archaeologist Dr. Vendyl Jones" plans to "uncover the Holy Ark of the Covenant" sometime this summer.

And to add one more weird twist to the story, Dr. Vendyl Jones was apparently the inspiration for (wait for it) . . . Indiana Jones!
