The Guy Around The Corner

Kevin Parker is a former Young Life leader who now lives in Bend, Oregon - where I live as well. He grew up in Salem, Oregon, and had my wife, Nancy, for a music teacher. After graduating from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, he accepted a position as an area director with Young Life in Littleton, Colorado. He was in the cafeteria at Columbine High School five years ago when Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris carried out their attack. Last week he spoke to a group of individuals who help victims of crimes. Kevin lives around the corner from me and we get together to smoke our pipes and drink scotch every once in a while. I thought you might like to read more about his experience in this article posted on our local news site (Bend.com): "Columbine survivor tells of 'unfinished destinies'".
