Today is Juneteenth, a day we celebrate the end of slavery. The day when news of Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation finally reached slaves in Galveston, Texas. . It was a great step forward but not the end of the fight for true freedom that continued 100 years later at this spot in Selma, Alabama and on through to today. . For this old white guy it is a reminder that the fight still has a long way to go because those morherfuckin’ racists are still out there trying to deny people of color their civil rights! . #siezetheday
