Civil Rights Road Trip - Day Seven - Stop #2: Montgomery . This is the site of the bus stop where Rosa parks caught the bus on December 1, 1955 that launched her into history. It was on that ride that she famously had the courage to refuse to give up her seat to a white guy. She was arrested and then tried on December 5th. . On that day a boycott of Montgomery buses began which lasted for over a year. It wasn’t until the Supreme Court ordered integration that the boycott ended. . For Ms. Parks the victory was bittersweet as she and her husband moved to Detroit in 1957 due to continued threats and hostility because of her courageous actions. . #CivilRights #BlackLivesMatter #NeverAgain #MarchForOurLives #GoodTrouble #rvlife #fulltimerv #nomad #solotravel #homeiswhereyouparkit #wanderlust cc: @repjohnlewis
