When I was a kid Dick Gregory was the first socially conscious comedian I was aware of. I saw him on Ed Sullivan and thought he was hilarious. (Cuz he was!) Weirdly l, my not so socially conscious grandfather had his autobiography, Nigger, on the coffee table. (I never figured out why.) I kinda glanced through it looking for the jokes but didn't find as many as I expected. I admired him throughout his career - and not because he was funny. I finally just finished "Nigger" a month ago. Still relevant today. #RestInPower #BLM
