Cathleen Falsani is the religion reporter for the
Chicago Sun Times - and probably the best at what she does within the mainstream media. She has talked with Senator Barack Obama a couple of times about his faith and her insight is helpful. Or at least as helpful as it can be. Check out her story, "
Evangelical? Obama's faith too complex for simple label."

I don't think President Obama is "born-again" or "saved" (basically the same thing); not just from this article, but from others, he seems to struggle with the term "born-again", and he’s not sure where he stands on abortion. I do believe that he is as "Christian" as many other church-goers are, and he's definitely not Muslim or atheist. As a Southern Baptist, I know how holier-than-thou other Southern Baptists (and I guess evangelicals in general) can be, but we all need to give him a break. God isn’t limited to just born-again people for use in carrying out His will, and I think that Obama is sitting on the verge of being saved, and may become so some day. In the meantime, I think he’s an honest guy with good intentions.
